Merry Christmas

Steve's Official Christmas Card 2008

Steve's Official Christmas Card 2008, designed by Hobbayne School's Charys Bestley - the finalists' designs are all available to view at Tesco, Greenford Broadway over Christmas

I’m wishing everyone a peaceful and prosperous New Year with fervour than usual as 2009 will be an anxious time for many of us.

On the international stage I profoundly hope that the Presidency of Barack Obama lives up to its Kennedy like promise.

Locally I know that the shadow of recession darkens many of the Christmas lights but I know that we are a strong and resilient community and that maybe life without some of the excesses of consumerism will not be so unbearable.

My very best wishes go to all those who make Ealing North such a great place to live in and I really do wish you the happiest of New Years.

More money for public play

Steve Pound MP welcomed the commitment made on the 12th. December by Ed Balls to provide Ealing with over a million pounds of new money to build and renew public play areas.

“I know that many of my constituents in Ealing North will be suggesting sites for new play areas or pointing out those that need a bit of refurbishment and I’ll be adding my voice to theirs. Anything that gets children off the couch and into the fresh air has to be a good thing and I’m delighted to hail a bit of fiscal stimulus heading in our direction”
